Mary Coffin
Director of Operations
Mary earned a BA from the University of Georgia. She graduated with honors in 2019, double majoring in accounting and finance. She earned her CPA designation in the state of New York in 2020 and obtained her CPA designation in the state of Georgia in 2023.
Prior to joining Practical Growth Advisors, Mary was living in New York City working for PricewaterhouseCoopers in public accounting. Mary spent 4+ years in the Banking and Capital Markets audit practice, most recently as an acting manager on the global audit of a Fortune 100 banking client. Mary specialized in high risk audit areas such as the estimation of allowance for credit losses on wholesale and consumer loans and lending commitments (portfolio size $400B) using Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) methodology. Mary worked on other large international banks, as well as registered Broker Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors, Financial Software, Asset Management, and Insurance companies. Her audit experiences include FINRA oversight in 15c3-1 (Regulatory Net Capital) and 15c3-3 (Possession & Control), revenue recognition, related party transactions, legal assessments, going concern and internal controls.
Prior to her audit experience at PwC, Mary worked with Emmett in the Accounting Department at Data Path. Mary resides in Atlanta and is the second of John’s three children.
